Welcome to the University of Miami
Hemophilia Treatment Center
|
| The University of Miami Hemophilia Treatment Center (HTC) was begun in 1987. Since then, it has grown from six patients to over 500 children, adolescents and adults who are living with hemophilias, von Willebrand's disease and other coagulation disorders. The center is the only federally funded 501(3)c non-profit HTC in South Florida. Patient and family education is a primary focus for the HTC staff, because we believe the best patient care results from cooperation between the medical and psychosocial personnel and a well-informed patient and family.
We offer monthly comprehensive pediatric and adult hemophilia clinics. As an HTC with the federally funded distinction we provide a scope of services, which include a 340B program and a program staff dedicated to the care of patients with bleeding/clotting disorders. The HTC's integrated family centered model results in the best care and lowest morbidity and mortality possible for patients. |
